Lessons From The Eco-Entrepreneur Who Sold Her Company To Disney For $20M And Had To Start Over

Jen Boulden is one of the most INTERESTING and candid eco-entrepreneurs I know. In 2005, she co-founded Ideal Bite, the green living inspirational daily email company. Three years later, Disney purchased the company for $20 million. At the time, Ideal Bite had 400,000 subscribers, and it continued to GROW steadily for a year and a half after the acquisition, before Disney changed course and suddenly shut the site down. While considered a success from the entrepreneurial standpoint, the shut down was quite painful for Jen personally. However, as with many serial ENTREPRENEURS, after taking some time off, Jen re-emerged in 2013 with a new (self-funded) spin-off company, JenB.TV.
